Fun karting or corporate karting can be dangerous and strict safety rules are applied, it is for this reason we have been successful over the past 2 x years
without any serious injury other than a few minor burns, scratches and only bruised egos. Entry to the Algoa Kart Club premises whether participating or as a spectator including minors or competing in any event; Algoa Kart & M/Cycle Club and F1 Outdoor Karting indemnifies themselves against any form of injury, public liability claim, costs of medical or ambulance services. The onus is also on the participant or spectator to report to documentation on arrival and not wonder around the circuit or its facilities.
For us to maintain the safety standards required we have rules and regulations that are strictly enforced.
THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY
Documentation, indemnity forms completed and pre-race briefing
Crash helmets and recommended protective clothing, visors should be closed and helmets fastened at all times
No crossing the circuit unless with an official before and after competing
Fiddling with the setting or making adjustments are prohibited
No loose clothing, scarves, jackets
Long hair, pony tails, wigs to be tied up or tucked in
Keep you hands on the steering wheel at all times
Do not drive with the accelerator and brake on at the same time including accelerator pressed while left foot braking
Unnecessary or repeated spinning/drifting will lead to black flag exclusion
Beware of the exhaust pipe that gets extremely hot and can burn loose plastic clothing and flesh if touched while mounting or dismounting
Tyres take at least 2 x laps to warm up and traction can be lost before tyres reach operating temperature
Should a kart stop place your hand upright for assistance do not jump out of the kart - there may be competitors overtaking
Participants should always look ahead particularly around corners to make sure no karts are blocking the circuit
Flags used are RED-Start or to slow down and stop YELLOW-Caution BLACK-Exclusion or a problem on the kart CHEQUERED-End
Should you experience any discomfort, brake problems, accelerator jamming place you hand upright and pull off towards the tyre barrier
When in doubt please ask and if a participant has never driven any motorised equipment before it is the responsibility of the participant to inform the organizers and
special training can be arranged before participating
It is recommended that cell phones and valuables are removed from pockets
No drinking or under the influence of any substance will be permitted, the organizers reserve the right to undergo random breathalyzer tests that will result in exclusion without a refund.
