Public Karting

F1 Outdoor is open most Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm at the Algoa Kart & Motor Cycle Club along Victoria drive just opposite the Sardinia Bay turn off. It is advisable to contact us before the time to make sure we will be there on the day, occasionally we are closed due to an event or if the weather is poor.

The karting is pay as you go and friends or family may be brought along to participate in a fun race amongst each other under the control of experienced karters. F1 Otd officials will prepare you with a pre-race briefing on safety and racing issues, we supply crash helmets and baliclavas. It is advisable to wear protective clothing - long sleeves/jackets and jeans - lace up shoes or sports shoes are recommended for your own safety.

The fun race consists of 6 laps that will include part lap warm-up and post race cool down into the parking area. The start is in formation first come basis and the flag will be dropped indicating the end of the session. It is compulsory for all competitors to sign an indemnity and if under aged a parent or guardian will be required to sign.

The karts are exhilarating to drive and genuine imported homoligated kart chassis with Honda 200 cc four stroke engines. Any person over the age of 12 years will be able to compete provided they can reach the accelerator and brake comfortably. The karts operate with a centrifugal clutch and are easy to drive including slick racing tyres for traction.

Rules and regulations apply under general F1 Otd regulations, to keep the karting original without adding additional weight with heavy protection bars that will slow the karts down, we have to keep strict control to minimize the damage. This allows the enjoyment of the true feeling of karting at speed on a National Kart circuit.

The officials keep an eye for deliberate bumping, forced overtaking, continues drifting and spinning. These acts of aggression my result in a competitor receiving a black flag that means exclusion without a refund. This also keeps the competition fair and to not spoil the experience for fellow karters.

By special arrangement we have GP Junior 60 cc racing kart available for the younger children between 8 and 12 years.

Come and join us on a Sunday, should you wish to braai or have a birthday party or special occasion contact us to make sure we are ready and available.
